Tom Handlen founded an apparel company called Impact Sports in 1990 after some years under the name Fund Raising Associates and Royal T Promotions. What started out as a fundraising and promotional company developed into a successful sports apparel company. After selling Impact Sports to Lids Team Sports, Tom served as President for about 2 years before moving on to new endeavors. Tom joined one of his former Impact Sports partners, Marv Siegert, owner of Madison All 4 You. Madison All 4 You specialized in corporate sales and embroidery, tackle-twilling and laser etching. Together, they have now formed Kollege Town Sports, continuing the corporate sales and embroidery, but also adding custom screen-printing and a team sales division. Kollege Town Sports is located in Windsor, WI just outside of Madison, the state capitol. Riddell has now partnered with Kollege Town Sports to serve as the company's major brand. Tom serves as President.
Since the beginning, Tom's philosophy and approach has always been to provide customers with high-quality products at a low price, while also creating programs that help stretch team budgets. After years with Reebok and Nike, these programs have had great success and continue to be an integral part of sports teams at every level.
In 2004, Tom was inducted in to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame, earning the DAVE MCCLAIN DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD. Tom has been very active over the years working with the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association in obtaining sponsorships through big brands for the WFCA Clinic. His personal and business relations with the coaches, and also his first hand observation of the coaches' dedication to this program, have been his motivation to be part of the WFCA, an organization regarded as the best in the country. In 2007, Tom was also inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
